The Week of February 6-12, 2023, Is Designated as Tinnitus Awareness Week

Every year, Tinnitus Awareness Week is observed during the first full week of February to raise awareness about tinnitus symptoms and their effect on individuals. About 15 to 20 percent of people suffer from tinnitus, a sensation of noise or ringing in the ear. It’s not a condition but a symptom of an underlying issue. Age-related hearing loss, an ear injury, or a circulatory system disorder are some of the more common problems that can contribute to tinnitus. Symptoms include ringing, buzzing, clicking, roaring, hissing, or humming in the ear, which can vary from individual to individual.
